In Red Dead Redemption 2, tracking down lost riches is one of the most rewarding pursuits for players looking to finance their camp upgrades and gear. The culmination of the High Stakes questline leads players on a dangerous trek to claim a valuable stash. Locating the third and final destination requires navigating tricky terrain near Fort Wallace.
Finding the Ridge Near Fort Wallace
To reach the final treasure, travel to the area directly northeast of Fort Wallace. Look for the large rock ridge positioned between Fort Wallace and Bacchus Station. Ride along the path that leads around the front of the fort, then head up the hill behind the massive stone structure.
Once you reach the elevated ground, look for a natural path descending between two high rocky peaks. This narrow saddle leads directly to the steep cliffside overlooking the valley below. Position Arthur carefully before attempting to go down the narrow ledges.
Navigating the Treacherous Ledges
Follow the cliff path downward and turn left along the edge. You will encounter a thin, steep ramp rising ahead along the mountain wall. Carefully sprint or move steadily up the incline to prevent slipping off the steep rock edge.
After reaching the top of the ramp, crouch low to squeeze around the sharp corner. Drop down to the ledge below, then turn around to locate the next platform drop. Leap across the gap toward the final rock shelf while keeping your balance.
Claiming the Three Gold Bars
At the end of the final path, you will need to crouch under a low rock overhang. Tucked safely inside the crevices of this overhang, you will locate three shiny gold bars. This valuable prize can be sold at any local Fence for a massive $1,500 payout.
Completing this final step also finishes the required objective for the Explorer Challenge progression. Players should take extra caution when leaving the cliffside, as one misstep can result in a fatal fall. Securing these gold bars provides a substantial financial boost for any stage of your campaign.
